I've been asked a question by one of out maintenance guys regarding qualifications / certification for working on industrial gas installations, curing ovens and the like. I know for domestic installations operatives have to be CORGI registered, but I'm sure I've read somewhere that this doesn't apply in a factory etc. Anybody any comments?

You are correct CORGI & ACS training etc does not cover the work on factory eqiupment but does cover commercial boilers however you obviously have to satisfy competence issues of those carrying out the work.

I have found a chape called Bob Clark at Peninsular training in Langport very knowledgeable on this specific issue. He will probably be able to explain to you relevant modules your men should have.
