Posted By Raymond Rapp I am assisting a friend with his FRA for a standard retail outlet. The rear door to the premises is a robust door but can only be opened with a handle on the proviso it is not locked. I know this does not conform with a standard fire exit door (push bar type) but with a small retail outlet is this acceptable and can this be classed as a fire exit? I would also be interested if anyone could point out any fire guidance available (free) for retail premises. Many thanks in advance. Ray

Posted By FAH Raymond In the first instance may I suggest that you go to the OPSI web-site & locate the range of free & downloadable Guidance that exists. There is a Guidance doc for the type of situation that you describe - Fire Safety - Offices & Shops. Also available on www.firesafetyguides.communities.gov.uk Frank Hallett
