Posted By Simon Chidwick Can somebody please point me in the direction of information (in English)of the French equivalent of RIDDOR. Have searched everywhere but cannot find English translation. Information such as: French legislation Reporting requirements for accidents, near miss, ill health etc. Any investigation requirements. Also if anyone has a reporting procedure I could look at, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Simon

Posted By Coshh Assessor Swis, I don't think anyone was expecting anyone else to search for a translation on their behalf. Is it completely unreasonable to think that maybe someone here works for a French firm or in France and might as a result have the information to hand?

Posted By Andrew Kurdziel Some rather pathetic responses from people on this thread for what was an obscure but reasonable request. I don't have a definitive answer but RIDDOR is not based on any European Directive so the French might not have a direct equivalent. In Europe if an employee is injured they don’t sue through a solicitor instead they contact their Workplace Compensation Scheme, who would register the injury and they may pass on the details to the HSE equivalent. The following has information on how H&S works in France and might give you clue as to where to find some more solid information. http://en.inrs.fr/ Good Luck

Posted By martinw Hi Simon hope you are still looking at this, but I found this: http://www.risquesprofes...stat%20techno%202006.pdf which is an insurers report giving work accident satstistics for 2006 and it gives its source as CNAMTS which translates to Management of Occupational Hazards - Statistics Technologies or that is what google puts it as. Posted By TonyB Simon, Have you tried using the translation software built in to Google. It can be used to search non-english websites and then display translated versions of the sites. The qualitiy of the translations isn't bad. I've used it in the past for a similar thing (Spanish Regs for Working at Height) and managed to find something quite quickly. Cheers TonyB

Posted By Karine Sophie Mathurin Hi, I am French, and although I have not been practicing as a H&S person in my country, I have worked in France for over 10 years and I don't remember any equivalent to RIDDOR. There is what we call "La medecine du travail" which monitors health in the work place but I can not remember anything about accident reporting I am afraid, apart from internal procedures.

Posted By Karine Sophie Mathurin I have been doing some research on the subject and any accident must be reported to "caisse primaire d'assurance maladie" reference "decret du 17-12-85". I have the list of the information to provide them and it is similar to RIDDOR. Article L.471.1 and R 471.3 from "le code du travail". I have a PDF file of the form to fill in. Please let me know if you wish for me to email it to you.
