If however you Meet with people from work for business reasons in that office then your office would need to be a smoke free office as it would affect others. if your car is a company car and you are its only user at work with no work related passengers you can smoke in it if your company policy allows you to. if others are likely to use the car for company business as passengers or drivers then you would need to put a no smoking sign in place as others would be affected (just as driving instructors are required to do) regards Frank

Posted By Barry x The regs for cars are different in different parts of the UK, for example in Scotland you cannot smoke in a company car regardless of use, John This is quite simply wrong!!! Private cars (company or otherwise) are not caught by the legislation!!

SMOKEFREE VEHICLES The new law will require vehicles to be smokefree at all times if they are used: to transport members of the public or in the course of paid or voluntary work by more than one person – regardless of whether they are in the vehicle at the same time.
