Adrian, you cannot be serious, surely your not going to allow that drunken obese man in your house? By now i really thought the message would have got through to you that he is a bad influence on children, and should be barred from crossing our borders, i hope he gets arrested and locked up, and you should too.

Although images depicting Santa as being drunk and obese is propaganda from the anti Santa brigade. You surely can't be a member? Are you?

I am the CEO of the anti Santa Corporation, we actively campaign against him, you may well have seen our protests outside of Parliament, but it falls on deaf ears with politicans, as they all look up to him, and try their hardest to copy him, Drinking, Eatting, and only working one day a year.

Its difficult trying to get support from the public, but we will carry on the fight, and eventually win.

If you would like to join email us on: www.hatesanta.com.uk/hate spurs2.org..

Historically for the construction industry, things build up from mid to end Feb, beginning of March. My H&S background is construction and I have 2 years experience as CDMC. So hopefully I'll find something soon.

I WORKED FOR OTIS TOO, MY FATHER WAS A ESCALATOR ENGINEER FOR OVER 30 YEARS FOR OTIS, I JOINED THEM IN MY EARLY TWENTIES AND WORKED MY WAY UP TO ENGINEER FROM A FITTERS MATE, I WAS CHARGE HAND ON MANY JOBS AND ALSO TRANSFERRED ONTO THE ESCALATORS ON LONDON UNDERGROUND JUST AFTER THE KINGS CROSS DISASTER.
THATS A COINCIDENCE, I LOVED WORKING FOR OTIS, GREAT COMPANY AND WE WERE WELL TAKEN CARE OF FINANCIALLY AND IN MANY OTHER WAYS TOO

I am in a bit of a mixed role really; which is good for IPD/CPD - do a bit of a lot of things and sometimes have to spread myself thinly (good job there is plenty of me to go around!); trained as a mechanical/maintenance engineer; which proved at times to be the scariest job in the world - especially as i do not like to work at heights! I feel that my experience allows me the right to say that i have been there and done that - i got away with but you may not be so lucky!

In a nut shell. I grew up in Cornwall then upon completion of schooling my parents emigrated to SA. I joined Otis at 17 as an indentured apprentice (4 year apprenticeship). Then I became service engineer ( light maintenance and servicing of lifts, and the releasing of trapped passengers) etc. Only have limited experience on escalators. Good company Otis.

STUIE, I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND, I HAVE THE TEE-SHIRT TOO, I DO LOOK BACK WITH PRIDE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I KNOW I COULDNT DO THAT JOB NOW.
MY DAD STAYED TILL RETIREMENT AGE WORKING ON ESCALATORS ON THE UNDERGROUND, AND SADLY TO SAY I THINK IT RUINED HIS RETIREMENT, ITS A YOUNG MANS GAME AND HE STAYED TOO LONG, HE HASNT BEEN IN GOOD HEALTH EVER SINCE HE STOPPED WORKING

I started on construction, then moved to modernisation working on Elevonics ( fast highrise lifts) and then eventually onto escalators, it took over 4 years for me to become an engineer, but i had the tools and was fitting after about 2 years, and was charge hand before getting the full engineers rate.

Yes Sean; I was in the carpet industry; what with the dust, noise, and night shifts i had to get out before it killed me. I do suffer with mild noise induced hearing loss though; testimony to working in a mill before the noise at work regs.

Stuie,

I emigrated to SA with my parents after I left school - lived there over 25 years, mainly in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Not really a football supporter, I prefer motor racing - F1

I'm with you on the footy Adrian; however I prefer to go and watch rallying - cannot be doing with going around in circles - much prefer the risk of going off into the trees or down the side of a muddy hillside in a damp and foggy Wales - oh the smell of mud and oil on a hot exhaust! I think i will be released soon (some say i should never be released!!! LoL) - so HAPPY CHRISTMAS to anyone readying.
