Ben There is nothing wrong with your method of attaching your lanyard to the crane hook in this method it is tried and tested and passed on many occasions HSE scrutiny. My concern is if I am reading it properly you then attach restraint lanyards to the basket? If this is the case were the basket chains ring or accessories fail you would then have a basket falling to the ground with a person or persons secured to it and the crane hook what would give first? And no you will not find any guidance to this, within the Industry some people attach to the crane hook and some to the basket with the fall arrest lanyard.
