People on an assembly line are asking for lumbar support belts, is this a good idea?

From the HSE web site: http://www.hse.gov.uk/fo...ps/ocs/300-399/313_5.htmLumbar support belts - Abdominal and back support belts are not recommended control measures as their effectiveness is questionable – see L23 para 186-7 for details. The task needs proper assessment and controls, PPE is a last resort and lumbar supports are not covered by the PPE directive

Posture on assembly lines is often the main problem. The HSE Assessment of repetitive Task assessment package is good for helping you spot issues and narrow down effective control measures: http://www.hse.gov.uk/msd/art-tool.htm
