Dear Taha Abdul Ghani
Not sure why you would wish to assert that Alan Haynes is not who they present as, nor why their geographical location would be of any relevance whatsoever.
We have users of these Forums from many geographies across the World, albeit with most being based in the UK or Ireland.
Many users of the Forums are NOT health and safety professionals but probably do not read the disclaimer in the Forum rules which includes:
IOSH is not responsible for the content or accuracy of any of the information contained in forum postings. Please carefully consider any advice you receive.
Hence any comment that is made that gives advice which if taken could easily result in harm to someone at work is unhelpful.
One of the advantages of having an uncommon name is that I am well aware how easy it is to find out information about people whose names include one or more uncommon feature even if it might only the name in full which is very likely to be unique, and more so if that name can be linked to something or somebody else as has obviously been the case with you on these Forums.
Hence, I guess that one of your roles is as "Search Engine Optimization Analyst" for a certain training company that may or may not be getting advertorial content on some recent postings on thes Forums.
....and perhaps that company should read Forum Rule 8 and consider very carefully whether the company (and those working for it, whether they be human or AI) are complying not only with the letter, but also, the spirit of the Rule.
PARTICULARLY if what the company's agents post would be suboptimal advice to any reader, so as to put people at increased risk of harm, and thence such that the company's reputation could be damaged.
The Forum Rules prohibit anyone from having more than one identity on these Forums but the relevant Rule can be relatively easily broken whilst it can also be bypassed by multiple users working in tandem, whilst purporting to be entirely independent.
Some longstanding users of these Forums have memories of misuse of the Forums for various purposes including marketing or general mischief, hence why the odd "Report" has been confirmed in relation to recent postings here. Also why some are rightly suspicious if two or three new users spring up in a short space of time and all appear to be commenting to similar purpose.
I remember buying products from the said training company. Its reputation has been severely tarnished in my eyes in just a few days by what appear to be their agents whether the company has or has not endorsed what those agents have been doing here.
Does the company actually want its reputation to be mired?!?!
