I am currently working on a construction project where dust exposure is constant. The rock is being pulverised and conveyed by a dump truck. We are working approximately 100 metres away from the event. Are we exposed to silica crystalline dust? And sure, KN95 masks are helpful for providing employees with PPE.
Our company is not interested in purchasing a device for air monitoring or sampling.

Mention of KN95 masks indicates possible activity beyond UK shores meaning the majority of posters on here could provide inaccurate guidance for the workplace locale as dust masks are more commonly referred to as FFP*. irshad where is the work site?

Seems this is a story I have come across way too often...there are standards and most are common across the world however there is still a culture problem putting profit before people as in some mid east and eastern countries low income earners are still seen as expendable...

Not so sure this helps you out but the ILO links and some research links are below to help with guidance and providing evidence for the change...however unless someone comes across and makes an official assessment it won't have much impact. officially there is support from local government resources that can help provide an assessment...getting them to do it is another matter.
