An acquaintance of mine is currently campaigning to be a MP. His political party has been a little vague on the health and safety requirements (aside from liability insurance which they have). He has a lot going on at the moment so I said I would look into it for him.

Does anyone know the requirements? I'm assuming volunteers don't count as employees, but there are considerations for them as well as members of the public . My thought process was at least a few risk assessments covering campaigning activities?

Plenty on the internet including several politial parties own internal advice for the 2019 election.

This year it is likely door stepping will encounter a lot of public anger because of a disenfranchised electorate and a form of hysteria whipped up by the Social Media frenzy that can occur especially from those who believe they should shout down and drown out anyone who has an alternative belief to their own.

Interestingly are the reports of a number of sitting MP's apparently declining the activity for this election because they feel unsafe.
