Posted By Jim Evans I am looking for information on the safety requirements for using high-pressure water jet cleaning equipment. Our company uses contractors for this activity quite often and I would be interested to know if there is any ACOP or specific regulation that they/we should be complying with.

Posted By STEVE Hi Jim Might be able to help you, I am the safety officer for my Company and deal with all the H/P Jetting that we are involved in. We have just completed a contract that involved decontamination of low scale activity of radioactive steel. YES! The H/P Water Jetting Assc. have an ACOP albeit Voluntary, however this is backed up by the HSE. Feel free to e-mail me personally for more info if required. Steve

Posted By STEVE Hi Jim-Andy SORRY ABOUT NOT MAKING E-MAIL AVAILABLE sbooth@ntlworld.com I have experience in 3,500Psi Hot/Wash units- 30,000 Psi units. Both sets of safe systems of work need to be addressed differently due to the hazard risks being vast. Steve
