Please help !!!

Background information: two standard height portacabins, one on top of the other.

At present there is a steel staircase that has 12 risers and in my opinion is to steep.

There is a small landing at the top of the staircase before you enter the protacabin.

I cannot find any information on the internet that specifies the number of stairs required.

I contacted a company who deals in portacabins and the number of external stairs for a standard portacabin is 19 so before I go back to the Company Directors I need facts.

The Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association (EEMUA) guide 105 Factory stairways, ladders and handrails is one design standard. There is also a British Standard if you Google you should find it. Probably BS14122. Risers are generally 165mm Going 275mm Pitch 31° to 38° from the horizontal Building Regs Document K also covers steps etc

And whilst it's aimed at internal steps, this guidance from the UK Slips Group is immensely useful for helping to quantify levels of risk from reduced goings on steps.

Its also a very useful document generally.
